Buy GeForce 8800GT today for 130 quid
Club3D, Sparkle, Zotac confirm the specs
By Theo Valich: Saturday, 27 October 2007, 3:15 PM
MAYBE THE times when a product in the UK was £100 more expensive than in US are coming to an end. When it came out, the 8800GTX cost 350 quid in Blighty ($700) and $500 (£250) in the USA.
After ATI started selling its Radeon 2900XT for the same MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price) in EUroland as in the US, it was a matter of time before Nvidia followed suit.
Now the GeForce 8800GT 512MB, costs £114.05 at Club3D without VAT ($233). Since that price in theUSA is $249, it seems that prices are slowly calming down.
At the end of the day, this is a good move for consumers in Blighty, which has had to suffer long enough.
If you live in one of the main Euro countries, you might want to check Geizhals.at, surely the best price engine in Europe. These guys are showing Sparkle and Zotac boards at 242 EURO (Sparkle), or 269 EURO (Zotac). µ

8800GT with 512MB will sell for €250
As of Monday, October 29th
We have confirmed that Nvidia will price its Geforce 8800GT cards at €250, and there should be many overclocked and reference cards to pick from.
Some overclocked cards might be even more expensive, but the suggested retail price for this card is €250. Most Nvidia partners will focus on 512MB cards, while 256MB versions will follow. Some should be ready for launch very soon.
Geforce 8800GT has great performance and Nvidia has high hopes for this product, as well as a 15-day jump on ATI’s RV670 entering the market.
