AMD Phenom 9100e pictured
Even since the last days of 2007 word got out that AMD was preparing a lower-cost, lower-power, low-frequency quad-core Phenom processor and today the new product is in that stage of its life when it steps in front of the camera. The Phenom 9100e is clocked at 1.8 GHz and features 2MB of L3 cache just like its bigger brothers, the 9500 and 9600, plus it comes with a TDP of only 65W.
Expected to arrive either later this month or in early April the Phenom 9100e is said to have a very attractive price tag of in or under $130 (though we wouldn't bet on it). The first CPUs delivered will be B2 stepping while the B3 9150e will follow in Q2.
