I created this guide in another forum, maybe someone here would like to use it.
How to use Dolby Headphone in MPC Home Cinema or Zoom Player MAX.
You need to have Cyberlink installed or download the audio decoder seperately*
*Problems with DTS audio encoded movies*
For some UNKNOWN reason, some movies encoded from Blu-Ray(MKV) that contain DTS audio will not playback correctly in MPC using Cyberlink (or nvidia audio decoder). There is a fix using FFDSHOW and Cyberlink together. I'm assuming everyone has or knows where to get FFDSHOW.
Configure FFDSHOW to accept AC3/DTS and output LPCM
Start-> Programs-> FFDSHOW-> Audio Decoder Configuration. Under Codecs select AC3 and set to liba52. Select DTS and set to libdts. Un-tick all options at the bottom such as, Dynamic Range Compression.
*For some reason, audio channels are mixed when using FFDSHOW+Cyberlink. If you DO NOT have this error, skip step 2*
Select and Tick Mixer. Select and Tick Custom Matrix. L-L C-R R-C BL-LFE BR-BC LFE-SL
Follow the screenshot, if you dont understand.
Select output. Select and Tick LPCM.
MPC Home Cinema
Open MPC and View-> Options. You can press the letter O to enter Options.
Internal Filters. Here you want to disable AC3/DTS Transform Filters.
Internal Filters-> External Filters. Add Filter...Look for Cyberlink Audio Decoder, select it and press ok. On the right, select Prefer.
Press Ok to exit the Options Menu. Playback a movie and check your Filter List.
Play-> Filters. Only ONE audio decoder should be in use! If not, you need to go back to step 3, Add Filters and find the audio decoder in use. Add it to the list but this time you want to select BLOCK instead of prefer. Playback and check your Filter List again.
Once complete you can then select Cyberlink Audio Decoder in the Filter List to choose Dolby Headphone. I prefer DH2, gives the right amount of space and voices sound natural.
If all your movies sound fine without a problem, GREAT! If you have problems with DTS audio, follow the next step...
Following Step 3) from above
Internal Filters-> External Filters. Add Filter...Look for FFDSHOW Audio Decoder, select it and press ok. On the right, select Prefer. You should have FFDSHOW and Cyberlink to PREFER.
Press Ok to exit the Options Menu. Playback a movie and check your Filter List. Only TWO audio decoders should be in use! FFDSHOW and Cyberlink Audio Decoder.
Enjoy Dolby Headphone in movies!
