AMD ออกประกาศเกี่ยวกับปัญหา RX 480 เรื่องการใช้ Wattage เกินกว่าค่ามาตรฐานของ slot PCI-Express
สาเหตุเกิดจากเม็ดแรม GDDR5 8Gbps ทาง AMD เองก็ไม่คิดว่าจะเกิดจากมัน (unprecedented)
ตอนนี้ AMD เลือกไปจูนส่วนอื่นที่ยังไม่ได้ถูกจูน
และโชคดีมากที่การสามารถแก้ไขผ่าน software ได้ ซึ่งทดสอบเรียบร้อยแล้วและจะนำไปรวมไว้ใน driver
อย่างไรก็ตาม ให้รออัพเดตความคืบหน้าเพิ่มเติมในวันที่ 5 กรกฏาคม 2016 นี่ครับ

ถ้าแก้ไขได้จริง งานนี้ถือว่าแก้ไขได้รวดเร็วและไม่ต้อง recall การ์ด ref รุ่นแรกจากตลาดทั้งหมด

I just received this statement from AMD regarding the excess power consumption of their new Polaris Radeon RX 480, which seems to violate the PCI-Express specification by pulling more than the allowed 75 W from the slot.

"As you know, we continuously tune our GPUs in order to maximize their performance within their given power envelopes and the speed of the memory interface, which in this case is an unprecedented 8 Gbps for GDDR5. Recently, we identified select scenarios where the tuning of some RX 480 boards was not optimal. Fortunately, we can adjust the GPU's tuning via software in order to resolve this issue. We are already testing a driver that implements a fix, and we will provide an update to the community on our progress on Tuesday (July 5, 2016)."

ฟังเหตุผลแปลกๆ เหมือนตอบอ้อมๆ

แต่ไม่ค่อยเชื่อว่าแค่driver ก็แก้ไขได้หมด ไม่งั้นแสดงว่า ถ้าไม่ได้ลง driver ตัวใหม่ ยังใช้ตัวเก่าที่มากับการ์ดก็ยังมีปัญหา?(มีเยอะนะครับ ที่ใช้driver จากแผ่นที่แถมมาเท่านั้น)

น่าจะต้อง update firmware ของการ์ดจอนะ หวังว่าจะออก software ทำง่ายๆ ไม่ใช่ต้องใช้ ATIflash.exe บนdos มันยุ่งยากสำหรับมือใหม่ หรือคนที่มีการ์ดใบเดียว

จำได้ว่าตอนแรกที่ 1080ออกมาเหมือนจะมีปัญหาที่พัดลม เดี๋ยวเร่งเดี๋ยวหยุด...เหมือนกันแล้วพอออก driver มาก็หายเป็นปลิดทิ้ง...แต่กรณีนี้ถ้าเป็นที่ Ram ทำไมถึงไม่เจอปัญหานี้ตอนทดสอบก่อนออกขาย.....แล้วทำไมตอนเอาไปทดสอบแต่ละค่ายที่ส่งการ์ด เค้าไม่ report กลับมาให้ AMD ทราบปัญหาการดึงไฟเกิน...หรือมันไม่ได้เป็ฯทุกตัว....???? หรือ ตัวที่ส่งไปทดสอบไม่ใช่ตัวที่วางขาย...????
