Taiwan-based Asus is showing HTPCs (home theater PCs) some love with its new multimedia-ready M4A78-HTPC microATX motherboard. Seen below, the board comes equipped with the AMD 780G and SB700 chips, support for AM2/AM2+ and AM3 processors, four DDR2-166 slots, one PCI-Express x16 slot and Radeon HD 3200 integrated graphics.
Set to be available with and without a remote control, the M4A78-HTPC also boasts Hybrid CrossFireX support, one eSATA and five SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, and Absolute Pitch Hi-Fi technology which dedicates an independent audio power connector solely to audio components to reduce electronic noise and thus delivering a higher sound quality.
The new motherboard features D-Sub, DVI and HDMI outputs and, in its remote-less form, it is listed in Europe with a price tag of 88.75 Euro.
