Scythe NINJA Plus

Ohayo!... Don’t be amazed with the language. It is just how to say Hi in Japanese as well as Sawasdee in Thai. Though it sounds strange, I said it on purpose because OverclockZone has brought a product from Japan to introduce to you now. Speaking of Japan, I am positive that rarely of you guys don’t know this country. It is the land of electric stuff and also includes many more technology. But for computer components, I wonder why there are not lot products from Japan. Though it has some, the amount is just few. Anyway, this curiosity is not really what I am going to talk about so let’s get to our concept. The Japanese computer component we are testing today, you might not be familiar with it but if someone has been updated news from the Internet, they might have seen it before. Now, you may wonder what it is. So why are we wasting more time ? Let’s take a look!

Same as the other products we have introduced, firstly we must have a look at its package so we can be sure we buy the right product. This product is a component related to heat dissapating and it cannot be something else besides from a heat sink to support the heat. This brand is considered new in Thailand and this brand is Scythe, model Ninja Plus. As you can see from the picture above, it illustrates many Ninjas.

A little bit more for the package, it is designed to let customers see some of the heat sink inside but you may not get the entire pictures how it looks like. I have turned the box ‘round and round’, it is full of millions of Japanese alphabets. But there are still some English words describing the product which still bring me some smiles.

After knowing the package, it’s time we studied this Japanese appearance as being the heat sink. Its figure doesn’t bring us any excitement since we have seen other heat sinks with similar figures before. However, what fascinates us is its size which is pretty enormous. Although the heat sink is big, you do not have to worry about its weight because it is only as heavy as 665g. “Ninja’s” heat conduction system is operated by using heat pipe which is a popular heat dissapating technology because it is impressively effective and convenient due to containing just few components.

Besides from the heat sink and the fan, there are still some supportive equipment which is necessary bundled inside the package. These accessories include main tools for setting up and hold the heat sink to the mainboard in different CPU socket. The Ninja Heatsink is able to be set up with various platforms which is popular at the present which are as followed; 478/775 main platform from Intel, 754/939/940 platform from AMD, and there is also a manual for setting up inside the box.

These 4 top views of the Scythe Ninja Plus is best to describe its model’s name. It looks like a Ninja’s secret weapon which we see from movies. Its figure is like a tall dice and there are fins to release the heat, laying above the heat pipes. There are 6 heat pipes that Ninja has been designed which it consider the most heat pipes in the heat sink ever.
